MISSISSAUGA: The Ontario Women’s Hockey Association is pleased to announce the arrival of the Women’s Olympic Hockey Team of China for Part 2 of the OWHA – Team China Series.

Team China is returning to Ontario for Part 2 of their pre-Olympic training camp. They spent nine weeks, from the end of August to the beginning of November 2009 in the GTA area, with all of their practices taking place at The Sports Village in Vaughan. They played 21 games against Ontario Women’s Hockey Association Teams with Team China winning 15, losing 5 and tying 1 game.  Twenty-eight team members and staff arrived late last night.

While in Ontario, Team China will play 6 games against Ontario Women’s Hockey Association Teams. The first game will be against Etobicoke Dolphins of the PWHL (Provincial Women’s Hockey League) on Sunday, January 24th at 3:45 pm at the Mastercard Centre in Toronto. On Wednesday, January 27th, Team China plays Laurier University of the OUA (Ontario University Association) with the game hosted by Toronto-Leaside Girls Hockey Association at Victoria Village in Toronto at 7:30 pm.

Team China will play Vaughan Flames of the CWHL (Canadian Women’s Hockey League) on Saturday, January 31th at Vaughan Sports Village at 6:45 PM. The next day, January 31st, Team China meets Mississauga Chiefs of the PWHL at Iceland Arena in Mississauga at 6:15 PM.

On Wednesday, February 3rd Team China faces University of Toronto of the OUA at Varsity Arena in Toronto with the game starting at 7:00 PM. The final game for China before they leave for Vancouver is on Thursday, February 4th at 8:00 PM at Elgin Barrow Arena in Richmond Hill against Toronto Aeros of the PWHL.
